๐Ÿ—“๏ธThe Kid Plannerโ† Browse Camps

Hi, I'm Clay

Single dad. North Raleigh.
Two very busy kids.

I built this because I needed it and nothing like it existed.

I'm a single dad with two kids in North Raleigh and a demanding career. Finding coverage and activities for my kids isn't optional โ€” it has to get done, and it has to get done fast. For a long time, that meant bouncing between 15 browser tabs, texting friends and other parents at the last minute, and still not knowing if anything was actually available.

What made it harder: my kids wanted to be at camps with their friends. So now it's not just finding an open spot โ€” it's coordinating with other families to figure out who's going where, which weeks line up, what the grandparents can cover. All of that was happening over text threads and group chats with no real system.

So I built one. A place to find all the camps in one spot, filter by what actually matters, put together a plan, and send it to whoever else is helping manage the calendar โ€” in one link, not a 12-message thread.

That's The Kid Planner. Hundreds of camps across Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Free. No account. Built by a parent who needed it to actually work.

Built by Clay

A Raleigh dad and marketing professional who was frustrated by how hard it was to find and compare camps across the Triangle. The Kid Planner started as a spreadsheet. It got out of hand fast โ€” in the best way.

Why trust us?

โœ…

Every camp in the directory is manually verified โ€” not scraped and left to rot

๐Ÿ”„

Updated weekly โ€” dead links get pulled, new programs get added

๐Ÿšซ

No sponsored rankings in main results โ€” what you see is what the data says

๐Ÿ’ธ

Free forever for families โ€” no account, no paywall, no catch

A few things worth knowing

๐Ÿง’

I use this too

Everything on this site โ€” the filters, the schedule builder, the newsletter โ€” I built because I personally needed it. If something is broken or annoying, I feel it.

๐Ÿ”’

No accounts, no tracking, no data sold

Your schedule lives in your browser. I don't create accounts for you, I don't sell your email, and I don't run ads against your information.

๐Ÿ“

Triangle-only, on purpose

There are national camp directories with thousands of listings. This isn't that. It's Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, and surrounding โ€” and I actually know these programs.

๐Ÿ“ฌ

I read every email

Know a camp I'm missing? Registration link broken? Something not working on mobile? Email me. It goes to my inbox, not a support queue.

๐Ÿ“Š

Honest about the data

Camps are added from public sources, operator submissions, and weekly scouting. Registration status and pricing may not reflect real-time availability โ€” always confirm directly with the camp before registering.

Know a camp I'm missing?

North Raleigh parenting communities are tight. If there's a program that should be here and isn't, send it my way. I'll add it.
